Welcome to HealFit ("HealFit," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use our mobile application HealFit (the "App") and related services, including our website.

HealFit helps you track nutrition, workouts, water intake, and progress. The App offers a free tier supported by advertising and optional premium subscriptions that remove ads and unlock additional features.

By using HealFit, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: Email address and password when you register with email, or authentication tokens when you sign in through third-party authentication providers.
  • Profile and fitness data: Display name, age, gender, height, weight, target weight, fitness goals, activity level, training level, workout schedule, training location, equipment preferences, injury limitations, focus areas, and unit preferences (metric/imperial).
  • Nutrition data: Logged meals and foods, calories and macronutrients consumed, custom nutrition targets, saved meals, favorite meals, water intake, and custom foods you create.
  • Workout data: Workout plans, completed sessions, exercises performed, sets, reps, weights, duration, workout history, and activity streaks.
  • User-generated content: Meal photos you capture for AI food logging, voice input for meal logging, text descriptions for AI meal analysis, feedback you submit about AI results, and shareable images you create within the App.
  • Support and feedback: Messages or feedback you send to us, including AI food logging feedback submitted from the App.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device and app data: Device type, operating system, app version, language settings, and general network information needed to operate the App.
  • Usage and analytics: Feature usage events (such as onboarding completion, workout started/completed, paywall views, and subscription events) collected through analytics providers.
  • Diagnostics: Crash reports and error logs collected through crash reporting providers and application monitoring services to improve stability.
  • Advertising data (free users only): Ad interaction data collected by advertising service providers and advertising networks, which may include device advertising identifiers where permitted by your device settings and applicable law.
  • Subscription data: Purchase history, entitlement status, and subscription identifiers processed through subscription management providers and mobile app store platforms.
  • Local device storage: Preferences stored on your device (for example water reminder settings, ad unlock counters, AI usage quotas, and theme preferences) using local on-device storage.

2.3 Information from Third-Party Sources

  • Food database providers: Product names and nutritional information when you scan a barcode that is not already in our database.
  • Third-party authentication providers: Basic account information (such as name and email) when you choose social or platform-based login.
  • Mobile app store platforms: Transaction and subscription status when you purchase HealFit Premium through your device's app store.

2.4 Information We Do Not Collect

HealFit does not collect precise GPS location for workout recommendations. We do not require access to your contacts, SMS messages, or phone call logs.

2.5 Device Permissions

The App may request the following permissions to provide specific features. You can deny or revoke permissions in your device settings, though some features may not work without them.

  • Camera: Barcode scanning and AI meal photo capture.
  • Microphone & speech recognition: Voice meal logging (speech is converted to text on your device before analysis).
  • Notifications: Optional reminders for workouts, meals, water, and motivation messages.
  • Photo library / storage (where applicable): Selecting or saving share images.
  • App Tracking Transparency (iOS): On iOS, we may ask permission to use your device advertising identifier for personalized ads if you use the free version of the App.

3. How We Use Your Information

3.1 Core App Functionality

  • Create and maintain your account and authenticate you.
  • Calculate personalized calorie and macro targets based on your profile.
  • Track nutrition, workouts, water intake, streaks, and progress over time.
  • Generate and adapt workout plans based on your goals and preferences.
  • Sync your data across sessions when you are signed in.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your requests.

3.2 Analytics and Improvement

  • Understand how features are used so we can improve the App.
  • Monitor performance, diagnose crashes, and fix bugs.
  • Develop new features and refine existing ones.

3.3 Monetization

  • Process subscriptions and restore purchases for HealFit Premium.
  • Display advertisements to free users through advertising service providers and advertising networks.
  • Measure ad delivery and subscription conversion.

4. Advertising & Premium Subscriptions

4.1 Free Version — Advertising

If you use HealFit without an active premium subscription, the App may show ads through advertising service providers and advertising networks:

  • Interstitial ads: Full-screen ads that may appear when you reopen a cardio or discover workout you have opened before (the first open of each workout is ad-free).
  • Rewarded ads: Optional video ads you can choose to watch to temporarily unlock blurred content on certain meal and workout detail screens.

We do not show interstitial ads during core food logging flows (adding foods, barcode scanning, or saving meals). We do not show ads on app launch or after workout completion.

4.2 iOS App Tracking Transparency

On iOS, if you are a free user, the App may request permission to track your activity across other companies' apps and websites for personalized advertising. If you decline, ads may still appear but will be less personalized. Premium users are not shown ads and are not prompted for tracking for advertising purposes.

4.3 HealFit Premium

Premium subscriptions are managed through subscription management providers and billed by the mobile app store platform where you downloaded the App. Subscriptions may include monthly or annual plans and, where offered, free trials with automatic renewal unless canceled before the trial ends. You can restore purchases when reinstalling the App or switching devices if you use the same app store account.

Premium removes advertisements and unlocks features such as unlimited AI meal logging, custom nutrition targets, and workout plan regeneration. Your subscription status is linked to your app store account and, when signed in, to your HealFit account.

5. AI-Powered Features

HealFit offers optional AI-assisted features for meal logging and workout planning. Free users have a limited monthly quota for AI actions; premium subscribers receive expanded access.

We may use trusted third-party AI service providers to process food photos, meal descriptions, voice inputs, and related requests submitted through AI-powered features.

5.1 What Is Sent for Processing

  • Meal photos: Images you capture may be compressed and sent to third-party AI service providers to identify foods and estimate portions. Images are processed to provide results and are not used by HealFit for public display.
  • Text meal descriptions: Text you enter may be sent to third-party AI service providers to parse food items and quantities.
  • Voice meal logging: Your speech is converted to text on your device using platform speech recognition, then the resulting text may be sent to third-party AI service providers for parsing.
  • Workout planning: Profile and preference data may be sent to third-party AI service providers to generate or regenerate workout plans.

5.2 How AI Results Are Used

  • AI outputs are matched against our food database and shown to you for review before logging.
  • AI-generated nutrition information is an estimate only. You should review generated nutrition information before saving meals or relying on it for dietary decisions.
  • Repeated unmatched food names may be stored in your account to improve future suggestions and may be promoted to custom foods after repeated use.
  • AI-generated food entries may be saved to your personal food library within your account.

5.3 Third-Party AI Processing

AI features rely on third-party AI service providers and AI processing partners. Data sent for AI processing is handled according to our agreements with those providers and their applicable terms and privacy practices. We do not use your meal photos or voice input to train our own public models.

6. Information Sharing and Disclosure

6.1 We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described in this policy to operate the App.

6.2 Service Providers

We use trusted third parties to help us run HealFit. They may process data on our behalf under contractual obligations, including:

  • Third-party authentication providers for account sign-in and identity verification
  • Cloud infrastructure providers and cloud database providers for secure data storage and account-linked data
  • Analytics providers and usage analytics services to understand feature usage
  • Crash reporting providers and application monitoring services to diagnose errors and improve stability
  • Advertising service providers, advertising networks, and advertising partners for free-tier advertising
  • Subscription management providers and subscription processing partners for in-app purchases and premium access
  • Third-party AI service providers for meal parsing, image analysis, and workout plan generation

6.3 Legal Requirements

If HealFit is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to continued privacy protections.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including:

  • Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS).
  • Account authentication, access controls, and cloud database security rules to restrict access to account-linked data.
  • Access limited to personnel and systems that need it.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

  • Account and profile data: Retained while your account exists.
  • Nutrition and workout logs: Retained while your account exists to support progress tracking and history.
  • Analytics and crash data: Retained according to our analytics and crash reporting providers' standard retention periods, typically up to 14 months for analytics events.
  • Local device data: Stored on your device until you clear app data, uninstall the App, or reset preferences.

When you delete your account through Profile → Delete Account, we delete your authentication account and initiate removal of data associated with your user profile. Residual copies may persist in backups for a limited time before being overwritten.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Account and Profile Data

You can:

  • View and update profile information in the App (Profile and edit profile screens).
  • Adjust nutrition targets (premium users can set custom calories and macros).
  • Delete your account and associated data from Profile → Delete Account.
  • Contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of your data.

9.2 Advertising Choices

  • Premium subscription: Removes all in-app advertisements.
  • iOS: Manage tracking permission in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
  • Android: Reset or limit your advertising ID in your device or account settings.
  • Rewarded ads are always optional — you choose whether to watch them to unlock content.

9.3 Notifications

You can enable or disable push notification categories (workout, water, meals, motivation) in the App and in your device notification settings.

9.4 Regional Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK) or CCPA/CPRA (California), including the right to access, delete, correct, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Your information may be processed in countries where we and our service providers operate (including the United States), which may have different data protection laws than your country.

Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for international transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms provided by our service providers.

HealFit is not intended for children under 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
